Can you send IBAN transfers to third parties?

Written by 800 .HL

Yes, you can make payments to any third party from your account.

Exception: first-party only countries

If you are resident in the United States, Indonesia or the Philippines, your virtual account supports first-party transactions only. Funds have to be sent and received in your own name.

  • Indonesia and the Philippines: third-party transactions are rejected in both directions, so you cannot send to another individual or to a company from your virtual account.

  • United States: you cannot send to another individual. Payments to a company, such as a merchant, service provider or client, are unaffected.

You can still send to a bank account held in your own name at any time. That is a first-party transfer.

This is based on the country of residence recorded during your verification. For the full detail, see Third-party transfers: restrictions for the US, Indonesia and the Philippines.

Residents of all other countries can send to third parties as normal.

If you need to pay someone

Withdraw to a bank account in your own name first, then pay them from there.
