Can you receive third-party payments to your IBAN?

Written by 800 .HL

Yes, third parties can make payments to your IBAN.

Exception: first-party only countries

If you are resident in the United States, Indonesia or the Philippines, your virtual account supports first-party transactions only. Funds have to be sent and received in your own name.

  • Indonesia and the Philippines: all third-party payments are rejected and returned to the sender, from individuals and companies alike.

  • United States: third-party payments from another individual are not supported. Payments from a company, such as your employer or a client, are unaffected.

This is based on the country of residence recorded during your verification. For the full detail, see Third-party transfers: restrictions for the US, Indonesia and the Philippines.

Residents of all other countries can receive third-party payments as normal.
